Bali United won BRI Liga 1 2021/2022, Set a Record in Indonesian Football.
Bali United also became the first team to be able to defend the title in the Indonesian League era since 1994. It signifies the greatness of Stefano Teco Cugurra’s troops.
Bali United has not actually played a match against Persebaya Surabaya in the 33rd week at the Gelora Ngurah Rai Stadium, Denpasar, on Frida (March 25, 2022), at 20.45 WIB. However, they have certainly won the League 1 title.
Because, their competitors, namely Persib Bandung, drew 0-0 against Persik Kediri. The result made it impossible for Persib to overtake Bali United in the standings.
Currently, Bali United has 72 points, while Persib has 68 points. Serdadu Tridatu won a head-to-head over Persib Bandung, thus paving the way for them to win the title.
Until now, no team has been able to back-to-back win. Of course, this is a very sweet story for the pride of the Balinese people.
As is known, Bali United won the title in the 2019 season. At that time, Serdadu Tridatu closed the competition with a collection of 64 points. They are 10 points ahead of their competitors, namely Persebaya Surabaya.
Then, there will be no competition in the 2020 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The competition will resume in the 2021-2022 season. This season, Bali United again won the League 1 title.
